AWS SysOps Administrator Cert Prep Part 8: Autoscaling EC2

This is the next lab in the series where we take a look at setting up auto-scaling on EC2. On Azure we can do this with Azure Virtual Machines. I recorded this lab so that others might experience it in a more passive way if they so chose. This video is a straight shot with no editing whatsoever so you’ll get all my hims and haws.

This lab will demonstrate how to:

  • Create a new launch configuration using CLI
  • Create a new auto-scaling group using CLI
  • Configure auto-scaling notification that are triggered when instance resources become too high or too low
  • Create policies to scale up or scale down the number of currently running instances in response to changes in resource utilization

This is a triple-tap lab! You need the knowledge contained in this lab for the following AWS certifications:

  • SysOps Administrator – Associate
  • Developer – Associate
  • Solutions Architect – Associate
